About NEET PG

NEET PG Exam is conducted by National Board of Examinations as eligibility cum ranking examination for admission into various MD/MS and PG Diploma Courses under ambit of Post Graduate Medical Regulations notified by Medical Council of India with approval of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. Qualifying NEET PG is mandatory for being eligible for taking admission into MD/MS/ PG Diploma Courses under various universities or institutions in the country.

In order to be eligible for admission to any postgraduate course in a particular academic year, it shall be necessary for a candidate to obtain minimum of marks at 50th percentile in ‘National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test for Postgraduate courses’ held for the said academic year. However, in respect of candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Other Backward Classes, the minimum marks shall be at 40th percentile. In respect of candidates as provided in clause 9(II) with locomotory disability of lower limbs, the minimum marks shall be at 45th percentile. The percentile shall be determined on the basis of highest marks secured in the All-India common merit list in ‘National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test for Postgraduate courses. The NEET PG shall be conducted by NBE at various centres across India.

Eligibility for NEET PG:

Candidates in possession of MBBS degree/Provisional MBBS Pass Certificate from a Medical College/Institute duly recognized as per the provisions of the Indian Medical Council Act, possessing either a permanent or provisional registration certificate of MBBS or equivalent qualification issued by the Medical Council of India / State Medical Council and have completed one year of internship or are likely to complete the same on or before 31st March 2018 may apply for NEET-PG.

A candidate can register and appear for NEET-PG only once for admission to a particular academic year. 

NEET PG Exam Pattern: (Computer Based Test)

NEET-PG is a qualifying-cum-ranking examination for admission to MD/MS/PG Diploma Courses in medical institutions recognized for running these courses under ambit of Post Graduate Medical Education Regulations. NEET-PG examination shall be held every year for admission to MD/MS/PG Diploma Courses of coming session and conducted as a Computer Based Test.

The test comprises 300 multiple choice, single correct response questions in English Language only.

The exam will only contain multiple choice questions, each with four (4) options and only one (1) correct response.

NEET PG Test fees:

The fee for the NEET-PG is Rs. 2750 for SC/ST/PWD candidates and Rs. 3750 for General/OBC candidates.

Negative Marking: There shall be no negative marking.

Test Duration:

The total test time of the test is 3 hours 30 minutes.

NEET PG Syllabus:

The Syllabus for the test shall comprise of subjects /knowledge areas as per the Graduate Medical Education Regulations issued by Medical Council of India with prior approval of Government of India.

The candidates should arrive at the test centre at the reporting time mentioned in the admit card on the day of scheduled appointment. This will allow time for security checks, identity verification and checking in for examination.

Candidates MUST bring to the test centre the following documents:

• Printed copy of the Admit Card with Photo of the candidate pasted on it; &or

• Photocopy of Permanent / Provisional SMC/MCI registration*, to be retained by the test centre &

• Any one of the authorized photo IDs (must be original, valid and non-expired)

Expired IDs or photocopies of original are not acceptable.

Candidates without valid ID proof shall not be allowed to enter the examination premises.
