The following are the important dates declared through JEE Advanced 2013 Notification

  • Availability of online Application Form(JEE MAIN): 8th November 2012 (Thursday) to 15th December 2012 (Saturday)
  • Online Registration (after being eligible to appear JEE Advanced Test): 8th May 2013 (Wednesday) to 13th May 2013 (Monday)
  • Download Admit Card: 16th May 2013
  • JEE Advanced Exam Date: June 2, 2013 (only offline mode)

JEE Main 2013 Exam Date

The first Joint Entrance Examination (JEE Main) is scheduled to be conducted in April 2013 through centres across India. The JEE Main exam shall be held in two modes; both on line mode and offline mode. The three hours objective type (MCQ) offline exam shall be held on 7th April 2013 followed by exam for Paper II for B Arch/ B Planning courses at NITs, IIITs, DTU and other centrally funded technical institutes (CFTIs) through out the country. Online examination dates are to be declared later.

JEE apex board has announced that the merit list for admission to NITs, IIITs, DTU and other CFTIs will be prepared by giving 40% weightage (after normalization) to Class XII or other qualifying examination marks held by various boards and 60% to the performance in JEE Main examination. The Indian Statistical Institute will be working out a formula for normalisation of marks for different school boards including the CBSE, ICSE, IGCSE, IB and different state boards.

The Joint Admission Board of IITs had earlier announced the exam date for JEE Advanced to be held on 2nd June 2012 and the question pattrern of JEE Advanced shall be Multiple Choice Questions of objective type.

JEE Advanced Eligibility 2013

As per the newly agreed arrangements made on June 27, 2012 between HRD ministry and IIT Council, all aspirants will appear JEE  Main examinations (old name ISEET Main Examination). Of the students appear for JEE Main Examination, only top 1.5 lakhs students will be eligible for JEE Advanced Tests (old name ISEET Advanced Test). There will be a gap between the JEE Main Test and JEE Advanced Test. All 1.5 lakhs students will be given all India rank. The JEE Advanced Test (old name ISEET Advanced Test) will be conducted by IITs.

For IITs, in addition to the JEE Advanced Test rank, students must be in the top 20 percentile of their respective board examinations (Central or State). For example the qualifying percentage for a student appeared in CBSE board will be 78% (Highest score being 98%). With the new arrangements, the class 12 Board marks will not be considered for admission to IITs.

The JEE Main will be conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education ( CBSE) with coordination from IITs. However, the JEE Advanced shall be conducted by IITs. Admission to the National Institutes of Technology (NITs) and Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs) will be based on the JEE Main score, whereas IITs shall take candidates considering the ranks obtained by the candidate in JEE Advanced.

JEE 2013 Exam Date

The JEE Main will be considered for admissions into engineering institutes including IITs, IIITs, NITs and other deemed universities and state level engineering institutions from 2013. The examination is expected to be conducted during April-May 2013. The exact dates will be announced in due course.

JEE MAIN & JEE ADVANCED SYLLABUS 2013

The syllabus for JEE MAIN 2013 and JEE Advanced 2013 have been declared by respective authorities. The main objective of the JEE Main Examination is to test the foundational understanding of the candidate in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as learnt in the 10+2 years. Whereas JEE Advanced questions will test the problem-solving abilities of students besides the skills of problem formulation and sharp thinking. JEE Advanced will also have tests for comprehension, reasoning and analytical ability of the candidates. While JEE Main shall be conducted in both online and offline mode, JEE Advanced shall be conducted only in offline mode.

CET 2013 (Common Entrance Test 2013): JEE Main  JEE Advanced

June 27, 2012: The Human Resource Development Ministry, Government of India in its meeting with IITs have finalized its plan to conduct the first time nationwide Common Entrance Test (CET) i.e. JEE Main & JEE Advanced from 2013 for undergraduate engineering courses. JEE Main & JEE Advanced (old name ISEET) will replace all the state level regional engineering entrance tests as well as tests for IITs, NITs, IIITs and deemed universities.
