Rajasthan Pre-Engineering Test 2013

Government of Rajasthan conducts RPET or Rajasthan Pre-Engineering Test for the entrance in the Undergraduate programs of the Engineering Colleges of the Rajasthan state of India. It also called as RPETEAP, which stands for “Rajasthan Pre Entrance Test for Engineering, Architecture and Pharmacy”. It is being conducted in the month of June every year. In 2009, it is being conducted by Board of Technical Education (BTER), Jodhpur. More than 75000 students appears this test.

RPET 2013 Eligibility Criteria for Admission

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION:
  • The minimum academic qualification for admission to B.Tech./B.E. program in Rajasthan is a pass with at least 45% marks (40% marks in case of candidates belonging to “SC/ST/OBC (Non creamy layer)/SBC (Non Creamy layer)” of Rajasthan state) in the subjects combination as given below taken together, in the final examination of 10+2 (Class XII) of Board of Secondary Education, Rajasthan or any other examination recognized equivalent thereto by Board of Secondary Education, Rajasthan / Central Board of secondary Education (CBSE).

  • Subject combination required in the qualifying examination for admission to B.Tech./B.E. courses shall be as under:

Course Compulsory Subjects any one of the Optional Subjects – B.Tech./ B.E.

Course Compulsory Subjects any one of the Optional Subjects – Physics & Mathematics

Course Compulsory Subjects any one of the Optional Subjects

(1) Chemistry

(2) Bio-technology

(3) Computer Science

(4) Biology

AGE:

Candidates who are appearing in the qualifying examination class XII in 2013 will be provisionally permitted to appear in RPET-2013. Such candidates will only be eligible for subsequent counseling and admission, provided they full fill the eligibility criteria as mentioned above. However, all such candidates will have to produce the proof of eligibility as above at the time of submission of the prescribed Option form; otherwise their candidature will be cancelled.

Only those candidates whose date of birth falls on or after October 01, 1988 are eligible. However, in the case of Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Physically Handicapped (PH) candidates, upper age limit is relaxed by 5 years, i.e. SC, ST and PH candidates who were born on or after October 01, 1983 are eligible. Date of birth as recorded in the Secondary Education marksheet / certificate only will be taken as authentic.

MEDICAL FITNESS:

A candidate desirous of admission to Engineering Colleges will have to deposit the Medical Fitness Certificate at the time of reporting in the allotted institution on the prescribed form certified by a Medical Officer of the Government of Rajasthan or a Registered Medical Practitioner as per medical standards laid down below:

• Height: Not less than 1.5 m for male candidates and not less than 1.4 m for female candidates.

• Weight: Not less than 41 kg. for male candidates and 37 kg for female candidates (Approximately).

• Chest Measurement: Not less than 69 cm with satisfactory limits of expansion and contraction (for male candidates only).

• Heart & Lungs: No abnormality.

• Hernia, Hydrocele, Piles etc.: Presence of any of these will be a temporary disqualification to be rectified before joining the courses of study.

• Vision: Normal. Where defective, it must be corrected to 6/9 in the better eye and 6/12 in the worse eye. Eyes should be free from congenital and other diseases. In case of admission to Mining Engineering courses, the candidates must be free from colour blindness (inability to distinguish between principal colours) also.

• Hearing: Normal. Where defective, it must be corrected.

• Speech: Normal.

The doctor will also have to certify that the candidate is medically fit for engineering profession.

RPET 2013 Registration Fee

a) The cost of RPET-2013 Application Form (including RPET-2013 examination fees) is Rs. 800/-, which is neither refundable nor transferable nor adjustable for future RPET. Any plea that the candidate failed to receive the information for appearing in the RPET-2013 will not be accepted as a ground for the refund of this amount or any other dues.

b) Candidates will contact any e-Mitra/CSC kiosk center authorized by the Government of Rajasthan and deposit a sum of Rs. 810/- (Rs. 800/- against Application form Fees and Rs. 10/- for e-Mitra service charges).

c) The kiosk will generate a 16-digit Token number for the candidate using e-Mitra portal and issue a receipt containing this Token number. Candidates are advised to keep this receipt safely with them for further use.

d) In order to activate the online application form for entering the required details, the candidate must enter his/her token no. in the appropriate column of the application form. The online application form will not accept entries without his/her Token number.

RPET 2013 Reservation of Seats

As prescribed by the Govt. of Rajasthan (except in case of Private unaided Institutions and 50% seats in the self finance course of the aided institutions) the reservation of seats will be made subject to the prevalent statutory provisions of the State of Rajasthan viz. 16% for SC candidates, 12% for ST candidates, 21% for candidates belonging to non-creamy layer OBC category and 1% for non-creamy layer SBC candidates.

Provision will also be made for horizontal reservation of 3% for candidates belonging to physically handicap, 25% for women category and 3% for dependants of Defence Killed/Ex-servicemen / Gallantry award winners.

Submission of Application Form (Hard copy):

 Attach all required documents. Write application form no. on each document. It is compulsory to send the application form (hard copy) along with photocopy of documents to the following address through REGISTERED / SPEED POST (not through courier):

The hard copy of the application form duly signed by the candidate along with requisite documents must reach at above address latest by 5.00 P.M. of 13th April, 2013 irrespective of the fact that whether 13th April, 2013 is a working day or not. The hard copy of the Application Form (RPET-2013) received after last date and time shall not be accepted.

RPET 2013 Syllabus

RPET 2013 Exam Pattern

a) Duration of RPET-2013 examination will be of three hours containing 40 objective type questions in each of the subjects of Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics.

b) Total number of questions will be 120. Each question carries one mark.

c) There is no negative marking for wrong answer.

d) The questions in the test booklet will be in Hindi as well as in English. However, in case of any difference in Hindi & English versions of question, the questions in English version shall be treated as valid.

RPET 2013 Cut Off Mark

The merit of a candidate in RPET-2013 will be conveyed through website and notice board of RPET.

a) Cut off Percentage will be decided by the Centralised Admission Coordination Committee before declaration of result.

b) Percentage of passing for SC & ST candidates will be 5% less than that for other categories. In the event if vacancies exist in SC / ST category, the vacancies of SC category can be filled by ST candidates and vice versa.

c) After the publication of RPET merit list, the mark sheet shall be dispatched to the candidate by post. In case a candidate does not receive the marks sheet within two weeks of publication of merit list, candidate should write to the Coordinator RPET 2013 for another copy which shall be issued on payment of Rs. 100/- by Bank Draft in favour of the Coordinator RPET-2013 payable at Jodhpur.

d) The merit of the candidates securing equal marks in aggregate in the RPET-2013 will be decided in the following order:

i) The marks obtained in Mathematics in RPET-2013 will determine the relative merit of such candidates.

ii) In case of marks in Mathematics also being equal, the marks obtained in Physics at RPET-2013 will determine the merit.

iii) In case there is a tie on the basis of the above criteria, the relative merit will be decided by the age of the candidate. The candidate of higher age (older candidate) will be placed on higher merit.

RPET 2013 Admission Card

Admission Card for RPET-2013 will be uploaded on web portal of RPET-2013. No admission card will be sent personally to the candidate. Candidates are advised to download their Admit Card from the website and take a printout.
