JEE Main 2014 Rank list for Admission to B.E/B.Tech(in institutions other than IITs)

  • Resolution by marks obtained in Mathematics in JEE (Main) – 2014. Candidate obtaining higher marks will be given better rank.
  • Resolution by marks obtained in Physics in the JEE (Main) – 2014. Candidate obtaining higher marks will be given better rank.
  • Resolution by total normalised qualifying exam marks. Candidate obtaining higher normalised marks will be given better rank.
  • Resolution by finding the ratio of positive marks and negative marks. Candidate having higher absolute value of the ratio will be given better rank.
  • If the resolution is not possible after this criterion, candidates will be given the same rank.

JEE Main 2014 Number of Attempts

The number of attempts which a candidate can avail at JEE (Main) shall be limited to 03 (three).

  • Candidates are also to note and verify for themselves the the eligibility for appearing in JEE (ADVANCED) – 2014 as well as eligibility for admission to various institutes. Being eligible to write JEE (Main) and by obtaining an all INDIA RANK IN JEE (Main), A candidate does not automatically become eligible for admission.
  • Candidates seeking admission to the institutions in the states of Gujarat, Maharastra, Nagaland and Odisha, which where earlier admitting based on their state level examination, are also advised to verify their eligibility as per criteria laid down by these state governments.
  •  No. of Attempts and Age limit for the states of Maharashtra and Odisha:

Since the states of Maharashtra, Nagaland and Odisha have now joined JEE (Main) system from 2014. The age limit, for admission to institutions in these states which were earlier admitting candidates based on their state level examinations, will be as per their past practice only. The number of attempts in such cases will also remain same as per their past practice. This will however be obviously not applicable for admission to IITs/NITs/IIITs/CFTIs.

JEE Main 2014 Guidelines to Candidates (Online Exam)

 

1. Please check the Admit Card carefully for your Name, Paper, Date of Birth, Gender, Test Center Name, City, State Code of Eligibility and Category. In case of any discrepancy, communicate to JEE (Main) Secretariat immediately for necessary action.

2. The Admit Card is issued provisionally to the candidate subject to his/her satisfying the eligibility conditions.

3. Candidates are advised to reach the venue at least 30 minutes before the examination so as to complete the registration formalities well before the time. Registration desk will be closed 05 minutes prior to the examination.

4. The candidate must show, on demand, the Admit Card for admission in the examination room/hall. A candidate who does not possess the Admit Card issued by the Board shall not be permitted for the examination under any circumstances by the Centre Superintendent.

5. The candidates are advised to also bring with them a copy of document (as per following applicable criteria) on the day of their JEE (Main) – 2014 and submit the same to the invigilator at the examination centre. The Candidates have to write Roll No. of JEE (Main) Examination on the copy of the document being submitted in support of class 12th/Qualifying examination.

This is in addition to the candidates bringing their Admit Card for JEE (Main) 2014.

6. No candidate, under any circumstances, will be allowed to enter the Examination Center after the commencement of the examination.

7. A seat indicating roll number will be allocated to each candidate. Candidate should find out and occupy their allotted seat only. Any candidate found to have changed room or the seat on his/her own other than allotted, his/her candidature shall be cancelled and no plea would be accepted for it.

8. The candidate should ensure that the question paper available on the computer is as per his/her choice of medium. In case, the question paper is in medium other than his/her choice, the same may be brought to the notice of the Invigilator concerned.

9. No Candidate will be allowed to carry any baggage inside the Examination Center. JEE Apex Board will not be responsible for any belongings stolen or lost at the premises.

10. Candidates are not allowed to carry any textual material, Calculators, Docu Pen, Slide Rules, Log Tables, Electronic Watches with facilities of calculator, printed or written material, bits of papers, mobile phone, pager or any other device . If any candidate is in  possession of any of the above items, his/her candidature will be treated as unfair means and his/her current examination will be cancelled & he/she will also be debarred for future examination (s) & the equipment will be seized.

11. Smoking and eating is strictly prohibited in the examination room.

12. Tea, coffee, cold drinks or snacks are not allowed to be taken into the examination rooms during examination hours.

13. Approach the Center Superintendent/Invigilator in the room for any technical assistance, first aid emergency or any other information during the course of examination.

14. No candidate, without the special permission of the Centre Superintendent or the Invigilator concerned, will leave his/her seat or Examination Room until the full duration of the paper. Candidates must follow the instructions strictly as instructed by the Centre
Superintendent/Invigilators.

JEE Main Information Bulletin

The JEE Main Information Bulletin containing details of examination, syllabus, eligibility criteria to appear, examination fees, cities of examination, state code of eligibility, age relaxation, process of normalization of marks, eligibility for admission, reservation policies and important dates will be available on JEE(Main)-2014 website www.jeemain.nic.in by the second week of November 2013. The aspiring candidates can download the information bulletin from above mentioned website only and read the same carefully before applying.

During 2013 many candidates filled up their forms incorrectly online and later their forms rejected and they could not appear the test. Many students visit nearest browsing centres to fill online application form and due to time pressure fill some details incorrectly and without further revision the form incorrectly. Hence, take due care in filling up online application form.

The JEE Main 2014 aspiring candidates have to apply online only through JEE (Main)-2014 website www.jeemain.nic.in.

The online application process will start from 15th November 2013 onwards.

The last date for online application is 26th December 2013.

The eligibility criteria for JEE (Main) 2014 and JEE (Advanced) 2014 are different.The candidates are requested to read the information bulletin carefully and themselves ensure their eligibility as per the criteria laid down for JEE (Main) as well as JEE (Advanced). In order to facilitate the aspiring candidates, the JEE (Main) secretariat has designated Facilitation Centres across the country who will help the candidates in filling online application without any charge. The list of such institutes is available on the JEE (Main) website and in JEE (Main)-2014 information bulletin.

Online Application Submission:

Online Application has to be submitted through JEE (Main)-2014 website www.jeemain.nic.in. The aspiring candidate should furnish all the details and upload scanned image of his/her photograph and signature while filling up the ‘On-line’ Application. Candidates are required to take a print out of the computer generated acknowledgement slip after successful submission of data and payment of fees and keep the same in the safe custody for any future reference.

Important Note – As for this year and for the first time, the entire application process is online, including uploading of photograph & signature and payment of fees; the candidates are required NOT to send any document to JEE (Main) Secretariat.

Seven (7) Steps to be followed to apply online:

Step 1 : Download the information bulletin and read it carefully to ensure your eligibility.

Step 2 : Read the contents of Online Format and instructions for applying online given in the Information Bulletin and keep the entire information ready.

Step 3 : Keep the Scanned Images of your Photograph, Signature and Left Hand Thumb impression ready in JPG format only.

Step 4 : Fill in the Online Application Form.

Step 5 : Upload Scanned Images of Photograph, Signature and Thumb Impression.

Step 6 : Pay Examination Fee by Debit/Credit card or e-Challan (generated after submission of details in online application form)

Step 7: Download Acknowledgement Slip and keep the same in safe custody.

Note: The candidate should mention only his/her own or parent’s mobile number and Email ID while submitting the online application, as all the communication will be sent to the candidates on their registered Mobile Number and Email ID only.
