AMRITA SCHOOL OF MEDICINE is a unit of the AMRITA VISHWA VIDYAPEETHAM a Deemed University, which conducts MBBS/BDS in its Health Sciences campus at Kochi, Kerala, India. Admissions to these courses are made on the basis of a Rank List prepared after a national level entrance test conducted by AMRITA VISHWA VIDYAPEETHAM. Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham or Amrita University has its presence in three states of South India, in Kerala at Amritapuri and Kochi, in Tamil Nadu at Coimbatore and in Karnataka at Bangalore and Mysore. The University Headquarters is at Ettimadai, Tamilnadu about 22 km from Coimbatore City. The university offers medicine, dentistry and other programs. It has 100 different degree programs. It has also undertaken research projects to benefit society.

Amrita University 2013 Eligibility Criteria:
Candidates must have age between 17 years to 23 years as on 31st December, 2013. Date of birth as recorded in the 10th standard / school leaving certificate will be taken as authentic. Exemptions to age limit may be considered only on medical grounds.
(a) Candidate must have passed plus two or equivalent in the first attempt with the subjects Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Bio-Technology and English and have obtained a minimum of 60% marks in English and 60% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology / Biotechnology taken together, from any State Higher Secondary Board or Equivalent (Biotechnology subject will be considered only for MBBS). For SC/ST candidates, minimum marks required in plus two is 50%.
(b) Foreign qualifications of A Level, IB, American 12th Grade or equivalent are also eligible. However these students will have to produce an Equivalence Certificate from The Association of Indian Universities.
(c) Candidates whose results of the qualifying examination are not available could also apply for admission subject to their producing the mark details before 5th June 2013 and the original marks list at the time of Counseling/admission.
(d) Written test is mandatory for all the candidates.

Amrita University 2013 Syllabus:
The syllabus for Amrita Entrance Examination will be as per the 10 + 2 examination (CBSE).
Amrita University 2013 Hall Ticket:
Admit card can be downloaded from the website from 09.05.2013 onwards. If there is any problem during download of admit card, candidate can seek help by mailing to email@example.com.
Amrita University 2013 Exam Pattern:
a) All the questions will be of objective type and each question will have four options. Out of the options, only one option is correct.
b) The Entrance test is of 150 minutes duration and the question paper consists of a total 150 questions
Biology / Biotechnology: 70
General knowledge: 10
c) 3 marks will be awarded for each correct answer. There is no negative marking for wrong attempt.
Amrita University 2013 Publication of Results:
Amrita School of Medicine has not declared any Cut off Mark.
a) Rank list is likely to be published on Amrita University’s website by 2nd week of June 2013. Candidates can access by using their admit card numbers and date of birth. Results will also be displayed on the Notice Boards in the School of Medicine.
