The syllabus for JEE Main has been declared by the CBSE and same syllabus shall be applicable for JEE Advanced also. As expected the AIEEE pattern of syllabus continues to be applicable for JEE Main & JEE Advanced Examination 2013. The main objective of the JEE Main Examination is to test the foundational understanding of the candidate in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as learnt in the 10+2 years. Whereas JEE Advanced questions will test the problem-solving abilities of students besides the skills of problem formulation and sharp thinking.
Both the tests shall be based on MCQ pattern and will have negative marks for wrong answers. JEE Main Exam shall have test duration of 180 Minutes each covering all the subjects in one go. Whereas JEE Advanced shall have 2 separate test sessions of 3 hours each covering all the subjects in each session.
